Nemu comes from the home of loving parents, and siblings. She had a perfect life until her father died. The holidays became ackward and strained. Eventually they fell apart. So when Nemu's letter came from Pembrook University, she begged and pleaded with her mother. Finally she gave in and let her go.
Her brothers and sisters were not happy with this, but she just wanted to be away from the constant awkward and upsetness of her family. She wanted to be in a place where there was a bright new future for her, where she could become anyone. The one fear she had was that when she left, she would be irreversably changed. As she was about to leave she hugged her brothers and sisters, but her mother would not show her anything, not even sadness.
